Featuring Jennifer Sandoval Ph.D.
Co-Director and Inclusive Culture Lead at UCF
Words matter. They have enormous power to lift up, but also to cause harm. For many of us who have always had language to define and describe our identities, we might not recognize the incredible privilege in that. For those who care about recognizing the dignity of all people across intersectional identities, it can also feel overwhelming to keep up with the pace of change in inclusive language. In our conversation, we will break down some basic inclusive language principles and explore specific examples of the evolution of language for the LGBTQIA+ community. Bring all your questions and a spirit of curiosity!
Sponsored by the FEW DE&I committee.
