Purpose:
What is and what isn’t Critical Race Theory (CRT)? Sherry will facilitate a discussion on systemic racism in all of its complexities and provide unique insight into CRT’s role in education, our workplaces, and communities.
Bio:
Sherry Paramore, Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU), leads the University with resource development for student scholarship funds, faculty support, academic research, facilities, and other operational and infrastructure needs. She is currently conducting important research for her Ph.D. on Education Equity in the State of Florida that has captured the attention of the Washington Post, Orlando Sentinel, national educational institutions, and higher education academicians.
Prior to her role at her B-CU alma mater, Sherry was president at ELEVATE Orlando, a nonprofit organization that empowers and prepares underserved high school youth to pursue a college degree, obtain a vocational certification or serve in the military.
I am excited to unite on a CRT journey, addressing systemic barriers, and creating equitable educational experiences for all.
