SUMMARY:Affirmative Action: Impact of the Supreme Court’s Ruling
DESCRIPTION:Featured Guest Speaker — Sherry Paramore\nVice President\, Institutional Advancement\nBethune – Cookman University\nHosted by Peg Cornwell\n\nDOWNLOAD FLYER (PDF)\n\nPurpose:\nThe Supreme Court’s historic decision to end federally legislated affirmative action programs in higher education to increase racial diversity on campuses will have a far-reaching impact in our colleges\, universities\, and workplaces. We will take a deep dive into the topic of education equity and what the future looks like for college diversity in light of this decades-long policy change.\nBio:\nSherry Paramore\, Vice President of Institutional Advancement for Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU)\, leads the University with resource development for student scholarship funds\, faculty support\, academic research\, facilities\, and other operational and infrastructure needs. She is currently conducting important research for her Ph.D. on Education Equity in the State of Florida that has captured the attention of the Washington Post\, Orlando Sentinel\, national educational institutions\, and higher education academicians. \nI advocate for educational equity and creating systemic change for marginalized students\, which increases their opportunity to access a post-secondary education and a thriving future.\n~Sherry Paramore \n
