SUMMARY:Breaking Barriers: The Future of Women Corporate CEOs
DESCRIPTION:August FEW Luncheon\nSponsored by Bethune-Cookman University \nBreaking Barriers: The Future of Women Corporate CEOs\nThis important event will bring together accomplished executives\, thought leaders\, and aspiring professionals to engage in a dynamic conversation on the challenges and triumphs of female CEOs\, the encouraging growth in the number of women leading Fortune 500 companies\, and\, most critically\, strategies to further increase female representation at the highest levels of corporate leadership. \nOur special guest’s experiences navigating the executive landscape\, in a male dominated industry\, will offer an inspiring perspective to our members and help shape actionable recommendations for future progress. \n  \nHow Does this Topic Benefit Executive Women:\nThis luncheon is an eye-opening session featuring the remarkable journey of a trailblazing woman\, Theresa Hordge\, who broke barriers to become the General Manager of a leading car dealership—an industry long dominated by men. In this engaging workshop\, she will share her personal story of perseverance\, strategic growth\, and rising through the ranks with integrity and vision. \nParticipants will gain insights into: \n\nOvercoming gender bias and navigating workplace culture in male-dominated fields\nBuilding credibility and influence in leadership roles\nStrategies for career advancement\, negotiation\, and self-advocacy\nBalancing authenticity with ambition in high-performance environments\nHow mentorship\, faith\, and community support fueled her journey\n\nWhether you’re an aspiring leader or seeking inspiration for your own professional path\, this session will leave you motivated to pursue your goals boldly and unapologetically. Don’t miss this chance to hear from a dynamic woman who turned obstacles into stepping stones—and learn how you can do the same. \n  \nSpeaker Bio:\nTheresa Hordge\, General Manager\, Greenway Ford \nIn Hordge’s first semester of college at Howard University\, she became pregnant thrusting her into motherhood and economic insecurity at the age of 18. At one point\, she relied on food stamps to support her young daughter. While many may have been deterred by these challenges\, motherhood only strengthened her resolve to complete her education. \nDue to her perfect 4.0 GPA\, she was identified and awarded a full-ride scholarship from the Department of Energy and the Ford Motor company to complete her degree from Howard University. Thus began her entrance into the car industry. \nAfter graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor’s in marketing from Howard University and with the encouragement of Ms. Zenaida Wright from Ford\, Hordge entered the iconic automotive company. Today\, Hordge is the first African-American female to serve as the General Manager of one of the top profit-earning Ford dealerships in the United States\, Greenway Ford in Orlando\, Florida.
